The Host first appears in the season two premier Judgement singing on stage at his Karaoke bar called Caritas. He is anAnagogic Demon with the power to read peoples aura and he gives advice on what they should do and the right path to take. The host was only known as this until the last few episodes of the last season where we learn out a lot more about him. He was originally from a Dimension named Pylea he arrived in Los Angeles 5 years ago after a portal opened up and he jumped on through it. He hates his home dimension and when Wesley, Angel and Gunn tell him he must come with them after Cordy gets sucked back there he is very reluctant.
We see why when we meet his family his mom is in fact male LOL and they all hate him with a fiery passion, after he gets his head cut off by Silas the high priest Cordelia screams as she feels responsible for the death of her dear friend little does she know until he opens his eyes that Anagogic Demons cannot be killed outright by decapitation their bodies have to be mutilated and then they finally die. After Groo saves his body from being mutilated the Host is taken back to his family home to be reunited with his body, Landock who is his cousin is the one who takes him and he encounters Angel and the others on the way back. Angel and the others are deeply shocked to see his head and even more shocked when he speaks, they learn that he will be fine and let Landock on his way to reunite The Host with his body.
We also learned the real name of The Host while they where in Pylea, Lorne of the Deathwok Clan, he warns the guys to not call him this back in LA it's strictly the Host or MC.
Lorne continues to be a great asset to the team, with his reading skills and contacts in the demon circle, Joss has also at last realised that he must be in the opening credits and so he shall be...
Lets hope that Lorne lasts the distance with the gang.
Cordy: "Who is this guy?"
Wesley: "He's, uh, anagogic."
Cordy: "Really? He looks like he's eating enough."
Wesley: "Psychic. He's connected to the mystic. When you sing you bare you soul. He
sees into it."
Host: "This isn't about your pipes, bro. It's about your spirit. I can't read you
unless you sing!"
