David Boreanaz was born on the 16th May 1969 in Buffalo, New York. His parents are David and Patti, his father is a well known Weather Caster in Philadelphia - WPVI((he goes by the Professional name of Dave Roberts) and his Mother works in a travel agency.

David is the third child and only son of David Sr. David’s two sisters are Beth and Bo. Beth is the mother of his niece, Caledonia (1994) and his nephew, Griffin (1997)

While in High School he decided to become a professional football player, however a knee injury forced him to drop that dream and look elsewhere. He had harboured a secret attraction for the Theatre ever since seeing “The King and I” as a child. He attended the Ithaca College in NY and while there decided to try acting, he majored in Film Studies. He graduated with a Bachelor of Arts degree after four years of study, and then headed for Hollywood.

When he first set off for Hollywood it was with the intention of working behind the cameras as a director. However, as an unknown he didn’t have much luck as Hollywood is not prepared to entrust large budgets to 22 year olds. There he took odd jobs like valet parking and painting houses. Despite this set back, he did manage to break into the entertainment industry via commercials and working as an extra.

While walking his dog “Bertha Blue” he was approached by a Hollywood manager who asked if he was in the business, when David said that he was the manager said he knew of the perfect role for him. The “Buffy” casting director Marcia Schulman was called to arrange an audition for the role of ANGEL.

The rest, as they say, is HISTORY !!! ANGEL is one of the hottest shows on the WB AND has entered it’s fourth season.

David reads all of his fan mail (when time allows him to) and answers a lot too, he has also been known to telephone fans and surprise them on certain occasions.

He likes intelligent women that read books and enjoy poetry. But don’t get them hopes going as David is in his second marriage with Jaime Bergman, actress, (Sons of the Beach). He married Jaime on 24 November 2001. Their Union is blessed with a first child, on the 1st May 2002 at 12.59 am. The little boy is called Jaden Rayne Boreanaz.

The Vampire mask that he wears on screen takes 80 minutes to put on and a further 40 minutes to remove, which he says he doesn’t mind as once the contacts are in he is raring to go…..

His family is extremely proud of him.

David credits his parents for their continued teaching and support.

“I never really set out saying ‘I want to be famous’. For me, success only comes from hard work, the work ethic I got from my parents. Fame is a fleeting moment”. – DB

“I’ve had a great teacher in my father. I’m fortunate to have such a great family, with two great sisters. They keep me in check.” – DB
