That Vision Thing
| Previously on Angel....... Wolfram and Hart employees; Lilah and Gavin,
some Pylea, Cordy in 'Heart-throb' the visions, Darla and Angel together, Darla pregnant
from 'Heart-throb.'................... Wes and Gunn are eating Chinese take-out in the lounge, chatting. Cordy walks through and it's obvious they were discussing her. Fred is eating her take-out under the table. Wes encourages her to join them, she does, and Gunn tries to wean her onto forks (she's eating with her fingers), she can't cope with that yet. Cordy walks back past them and Gunn and Wes are suspiciously nice.... she knows what they're doing, they think she's on edge because she hasn't had a vision in a while. Gunn explains to Fred that Cordy doesn't choose to have visions. Gavin Park (Wolfram and Hart employee) walks in, Cordy thinks he's a client ( 'in tastefully expensive Gucci loafers' ), Wesley explains he works for Wolfram and Hart. Gavin asks 'new player?' as he spots Fred. Wes tells him to piss off, as Angel walks into the lobby. He holds a list of 57 city code violations for the hotel. '57. Is that a lot?' Cordelia liked his suit. Angel notices Fred's out and about, it's good to see. She agrees, she informs him she's been forking with Gunn........ Cordy falls to the ground, convulsing with a vision. Angel and Wes are holding onto her. It's sharp, shooting, brief images. Angel asks if she's alright. She explains her vision 'There's a coin, and two cog things. It's in Chinatown I think..... in an herbalist shop.' Angel helps her up, she winces in pain. He looks really concerned. She tells him he just caught her off-guard, to go and find the coin, it has a hole in it. She heads to the bathroom. She looks to be in a lot of pain. Wesley comes to the door, did the beast have four or five claws? She pulls her top up to reveal her tummy which has five slashes across it. She's pretty certain it was five claws..... Cue opening credits...... Wes and Fred are in a room in the hotel, Wes is researching the demon, whilst Fred is supposed to be finding listings for herbalists in Chinatown from the Yellow Pages. H is such an interesting letter. There's five herbalists in Chinatown. Wes has narrowed their demon down to a potential two. Gunn suggests they go find the demon, and then identify it. Sounds like a plan. Angel asks Fred to do something for him. Cordy is in the bathroom examining the claw slashes across her back and shoulder. Angel wont leave until she opens the door, he doesn't believe she's fine, and wants her to go home, Fred'll take her. Angel is in the back-seat of the Angel-mobile, Gunn is driving up front with Wesley. Angel looks distant, worried. Gunn ponders why the thing they're searching for is always in the last place they look. They walk into the final herbalist. There is an elderly Chinese man and women behind the counter. They recognise Angel as a vampire. He tells them he's looking for an ancient coin. They go all unexpectedly flippy over the counter. Gunn and Wes deal with the 'grandma' whilst Angel fights with the elderly man. Finally, they are able to knock the two demons out, though they were strong, persistant fighters. Angel finds the coin around a chain on the mans neck. He takes it. At Wolfram and Hart, Lilah takes a page from the printer. Gavin walks over to her, and takes the printout from her. It was nice of him to ask to use her printer. Gavin tells her that hes been moved into special ops, from real estate? Hes got a case involving ANGEL Investigations, theres a place on his team for her if she wants it. Lilah doesnt like the fact he uses the terms my team. Lilah tells Gavin that Lindsay sacrificed things for Wolfram and Hart, he lost his hand, all Gavins doing is threatening them with building code violations. Gavin explains hes fighting Angel in his own way. Lilahs sure Angel is terrified. She leaves into another room. At Cordys house, shes faking that shes ready for bed etc, she just wants Fred to leave so she can be alone. She walks through the hall and sees Fred sitting on the kitchen floor eating peanut butter. Its been so long. Fred is reluctant to leave, Angel told her to stay with Cordy until he phoned. Cordelia assures her shes fine, and guides Fred toward the door. Cor tells her shes right as rain leading into Fred jabbering on about how she never understood that saying anyway, How can rain be right .. or wrong for that matter? Fred begins to ask Cor about her visions. Cor tries to steer her toward the door. Has anyone ever told you youre exactly like Lassie? Fred asks to Cors surprise. Youre like Angels Lassie. Cor really isnt happy with this identification. Fred explains; You get the visions to tell him that Timmys stuck down the well etc. Cors still not wonderfully moved by this identification until Fred adds Angel really needs and depends on you. Cor likes that, but still asks Dennis for a lil help. Dennis opens the door, and Cor pushes Fred through. Shes beginning to say We must do this again when she has a vision. She falls to the floor, on her front. This vision is also sharp, with brief flashes. When Fred rolls Cor over and asks if shes alright, boils begin to appear on Cors face and neck. Angel is sitting on Cors bed with her. Her hair is down, obscuring her face. Wes and Fred (w/ Gunn) are standing at either side of the door-frame. Cor explains her vision, there was an iicky demon, at a storefront, on the corner of 5th and something . and there is a key, I should draw you a picture of the key she stands up, and Angel pulls her back down. He pulls her hair back from her face, and sees the boils. They need to talk, she doesnt want to. Angel asks if its happened before when she had a vision. She pulls up her sleeve and shows him the claw marks from earlier that day. Wes realises that her visions have had a physical manifestation (Gee! Hes quick ). She looks into the mirror, she doesnt believe that the Powers would do that to her. Angel takes the others outside to figure this out. Fred suggests that because the messages are made of energy, they could trace the call. Wesley suggests that Angel go and find the key. Angel refuses to leave Cordelia. Wesley tells him that the key was in the visions that affected Cordy, they sooner they solve the visions, the closer they will be to making Cor better. Angel comes into the shop (holding a big swishy sword) that Cordy saw in her vision, he demands the key. The man behind the desk asks which one? as he turns a light on overhead to reveal that Angel is in a locksmiths. Do you have the original? Angel shows him the picture Cor drew. Thisll only take a minute the man presses a button under the desk, and big boily demon (from Cors vision) drops down behind Angel. Gunns walking Fred home. Freds sure Gunn must be disappointed he didnt get to go find the demon with Angel Sure. Why would I rather be walking a cute young woman home on a beautiful night than hacking and slaying a big ugly boil demon, and getting myself killed? Gunn asks. Fred cant apologise enough (obviously not understanding his sarcasm). They arrive at Hyperion, and see two men inside, theyre fumigating. One of the men explains that theyre 'SureKill Exterminators Gunn doesnt believe that, in the middle of the night. He tells Fred to go into Wesleys office and get some books while he talks to the nice man. Fred walks through past them, and Gunn tells the guy Youve got 30 seconds to show me your work order, or Im gonna be doing some exterminating my damn self. Wes opens the door to Angel. He walks into Cors apartment, handing Wes the newly acquired key. He heads straight through to her room to see if shes okay. Lorne is sitting on the bed next to Cor. His Royal Badness he greets Angel and asks if he can get Cor to stop resisting the process. The process? Angel asks. Wes explains that Lorne is going to try and trace the visions back to the Powers That Be to find out why this is happening to Cordy. Angel sits down next to her and asks her why she wont let Lorne into her head. She explains that she doesnt want any more noise in her head. Angel suggests that maybe this will make the noise stop, doesnt she want that. She does, but she doesnt. She still wants her vision because she feels without them she wouldnt be able to help them anymore, that Angel wont need her. Angel tells her thats not why he needs her (ho hum . Not making a comment). Shes important, the visions are just extras. He compares her to a car which she thinks is better than a dog. Shes ready to let Lorne help her. Lorne tells her to relax, and massages her temples. She has to imagine shes on a mountain-top (she likes the mountains) and is spinning and swirling. Unfortunately the spinning and swirling freaks her out and she sends a little shock through to Lorne. She sits up, getting ready to try again. Lilah is in her office, talking to a guy in a Moroccan hat about money. She wants him to finish the job and then theyll talk about taxes. He sits on top of the table, legs crossed. He rises above it, floating, eyes closed in a meditative state, concentrating. He takes off his hat, and we see his brain?! (ickiness ensues). Back in Cordys room; Lorne is massaging here temples, when, suddenly, she has a vision. Its full of fire, she screams. When it ends, Cor is covered in burns. Angel, Wes and Lorne look on, concern evident. Brain guy floats back down to the table, opens his eyes, and puts his hat back on. Well? Lilah asks him. I think she got the message Angel sits on a chair beside the bed where Cor is lying. Am I a bad person Cor feels this is happening to her because shes snippy and bad. Angel assures her this isnt happening to her because shes bad, if anything, its because shes strong, stronger than she realises. Cor doesnt believe she is, what she said earlier about wanting to keep the visions, thats no longer true. She tried to be brave, but now shes just scared, always scared . She doesnt understand what could be so important that The Powers would do this to her. Angel doesnt either. He takes hold of Cordys hand. Wes peeks his head round the door, beckoning Angel into the hall. Angel shakes his head, its evident he doesnt want to leave Cor. I really think you should hear this Angel reluctantly goes into the hallway with Wes. This better be important Wes leads him into the Lounge where Lorne, Fred and Gunn are sitting. Did you make contact? Angel asks. The visions arent from The Powers Fred informs him. Sure sweetheart, steal my thunder. Next time you can be the one to be thrown across the room Lorne remarks. 'It appears someones hacked into Cordys head. The visions are being sent from Earth, and are pretty authentic. Lorne suggests they start looking at enemies, who has the sizable resources? And, who wouldnt mind messing up a pretty head like Cors? In Lilahs office, she is apparently working on her PC . wait, no, shes playing Virtual Golf. She goes for a shot, and fouls it. Angel makes a comment, she jumps, he scares the absolute shot out of her (okay.. bad joke . hangs head in shame). How did he get in past Wolfram And Harts security/ vamp detectors? Gavin let him in. He figures Lilah wants these: he throws the key and coin unto her desk. She puts her hand at the edge to stop them falling off. Angel walks toward the door, shes got what she wanted, their business is through. Lilah stops him, apparently it isnt. Hell need the coin and key to complete his mission. Angel doesnt think so, theyre through. Lilah disagrees. Theres a young man whose been unfairly imprisoned, and youre going to save him. Isnt that what you do? Save people? I do this for you and you stop sending Cordy the killer visions? No, youll do this for me because I tell you to, Lilah walks around Angel, fingering his collar. I know what youre thinking, yes, you could kill me now. But then youll never be able to stop the visions. And, just for the record, those little skin problems on whats-her-name werent intended, just unfortunate side-effects Shes gone too far, Angel grabs her by the throat, Her names Cordelia, and you will help her. He lets go, and moves away So wheres this jail? Lilah needed someone who could move in and out of demon dimensions, so were guessing-in a demon dimension .?! Wess office at Hyperion, Wes is studying the key and coin with a magnifying glass. He asks how Cordelia is, Angel informs him that Gunn and Fred are looking after her. Angel asks Wes if hes figured it out yet. Wes doesnt think hell want to hear it, but goes on to tell him anyway. Theyre (the coin and key) both considered objects of good. And because the Chinese couple and boil demon were protecting them, that also makes them good, Damn! Its so hard to tell these days Angel muses (we hear ya honey). Wesley tells Angel the coin and key work together to transport him in and out of the other dimension where the jail is. Angel wonders if they have any other clues as to what the other dimension is like, apart from fortressy and demony. Wes suggests that due to the burn scars Cor received from her last vision that fires not out of the question. He also suspects that since the young man is being held prisoner, there should be guards. Wes spends the next couple of minutes discouraging Angel from going, its against everything he fights for etc. Angel agrees, but is still obviously going. End of discouragement speech, Angel is in the midst of packing up weapons from the weapon cabinet. Wes tells Angel hes going with him. Angel wont let him, he needs him back here in case anything goes wrong. He then asks Wes to show him how the key and coin work together to transport him. Wes pits the key in the hole in the coin and turns. The key expands (kinda) and pincers come out to make it turn into a spinning-top type structure. It spins, creating a small whirlwind. Angel steps into it and is transported. Wesley watches as Angels weapons clatter to the floor in front of him. Uh-Oh Angel is standing in a room in the prison dimension, he checks himself and realises his weapons arent there, Sure, cos itd be too easy if I could defend myself. At least hes still got the key, he pockets it. He sees a stairwell leading down to a room with flames silhouetted on the walls. He heads downwards, and sees a figure on fire in a flaming cube in the centre of the room. He is completely engulfed in flames. A metal demon comes up behind Angel, they exchange hi s. They both know Angels not supposed to be here. The demon confirms that a guy has to be pretty monstrous to be imprisoned here. The demon introduces himself, hes Skip. Angel. Apparently Skips will is what keeps the guy engulfed in flames, and he is screaming, its just that Skips will also prevents him from being heard. He recognises Angel as a vampire. When Skip asks why Angel smells as if he works for The Powers That Be, Angel explains thats because he does. Theyre on the same side, Skip doesnt understand why Angel would try to free the prisoner. Angel informs him Its a long story, involves a girl I dont like it any better than you do. Skip asks Angel if he cant change his mind, Angel wishes he could. Unexpectedly, Skip sends Angel flying against a wall (What happened to the friendly banter?!). Without hesitation, Angel morphs into vamp-mode and they kick respective ass. At one point, Angel sends Skip reeling toward the cage. The kid grabs Skip from inside, and holds him against the flames by the shoulders. Angel morphs back into human-face, and pulls Skip away from the fire. Skip are you okay? Skip nods, Good. Sorry about this Angel knocks him out, rendering Skips will incapable. The fire extinguishes. The charred guy who appears, out of the cage, fixes Angel with an evil looking glare (ooh, I can feel repercussions in the air). There are two limos with blacked out windows on the docks. Lilah is standing between them, pacing slightly. She looks at her watch. She looks up, and smirks as the Angel-mobile pulls up at the other end of the car park. Angel and Wes are in the front, and Gunn is in the back with evil guy. Angel has obviously advised Gunn to kill evil boy if anything goes wrong. Some other supposed Wolfram and Hart employees get out of one of the limos. Lilah tells Angel no one at the firm thought he could do it, but she did. Angel doesnt seem to care (Wonder Why?!) and calls her an evil bitch. He tells her to care of Cord. She opens the door to the other limo (the one which no-one came out of), and says something to brain-guy, who is inside. This should only take a moment. Angel turns to Wes, who pulls out his cellphone and flicks it open. At Cors, she is asleep, Fred is sitting at her bedside. Fred answers the ringing cordless phone in the hall, and walks back through to Cordelia. Her boils and burns etc disappear (Yay!). Wes nods to Angel. Gunn and Wes get out of the car to let evil guy out. He walks toward Lilah-the Wolfram and Hart employees put him in the limo with them (I should mention his hands are still bound together with rope). Lilah walks toward her limo. Angel picks up an iron bar from the ground, and throws it. It just misses Lilah (we can guess purposefully), and smashes through her limo, killing brain guy. Lilah recovers a minute, only to find Angel behind her. He tells her if she ever uses Cordy to get to him again, hell kill her .. He walks back to the Angel-mobile and the guys drive off, leaving Lilah watching after them. In Hyperions kitchen, Cor sets a mug of coffee in front of Angel (then one for herself), and serves some toast up for them both. Angel points out that he doesnt eat. Cordelia just wants to make use of the massive kitchen, which is going to waste, and, its also her way of saying thank you. She tells Angel what he did for her was amazing. However, shes worried, what if the guy he released was truly evil? Angel assures her he did what he had to do, and theyll deal with the consequences when they come (tempt fate much?!). Yoro Mountains, Honduras. There is a storm, a Shaman is at a workbench, he turns toward the door in anticipation. Darla walks in, drenched. She tells him hes a hard man to find. Hes her last hope, shes tried everything and she cant get rid of it. She wants to know what the thing is thats growing inside her. He asks if the father is a vampire, she replies Yes, though not a very good one. The Shaman needs some of Darlas blood, Ill show you mine if you show me yours. He seems reluctant to cut her hand. Men are such babies she takes the knife from him, and slices her hand with ease. He mixes her blood into a mixture with herbs and a pestle. He assures her this has never failed him. He puts the mixture on his hands and rubs them together. He places his hands on her pregnant belly, leaving rust coloured handprints on her white top (thatll never come out!). Her belly causes his hands to vibrate, he is thrown across the room. He cannot help her, This was not meant to be (she kinda guessed that, being dead and all). I guess theres only one thing left to do: Time to go visit daddy. She tells the bump . |
| Opening is the usual 'previously on Angel' We see mainly Cordy stuff,
followed by Pylea, then a lil bit of Darla, Wolfram and Hart. Cordy's voice is heard as
Fred coyly ventures into the hallway of the Hyperion. Cordy, Wes and Gunn have returned
from apparently killing a demon. Cordy checks her disheveled appearance as they discuss
how they're not sad and obsessed with demons (Keep telling yourselves that!!!), but
seriously Wes really helps their reasoning when he corrects Gunn explaining the
sub-species of demons and how you can identify them etc. Cordy lies down on the cool oval
shaped couch. Gunn questions about Fred, Cordy explains that she pokes her head out of her
room every so often. Wes says 'she's a nice girl' Cor quickly replies 'nice girl, but not
making a giant stride for mental health...' We hear that Fred hasn't basically ventured out of her room for three months. Wes and Gunn think Fred has become attached to Angel, since he rescued her in Pylea, Cor misses Pylea. Wes talks about the contrast between Cordy's time in Pylea (she was there a week and made Queen) and Fred's time there (she was there five years, became a prisoner, a runaway, and they were going to chop her head off). Gunn asks when Angel is getting back, Cor comments that he'll be back whenever he works through his grief, then refuses to let Gunn use the 'B-word' (Gunn then explains briefly about Buffy being the love of Angel's life, and Angel being 250, not a short life, it'll take more than a holiday in Sri-Lanka to cure his grief). Wes then explains that Angel is on a spiritual retreat at a monastery in Sri-Lanka. Gunn thinks he should have gone to Vegas, Wes doesn't agree that Angel needed a lap-dance. Angel needs some peace and quiet... Cut to Angel (typically) fighting some monk guys, he's very sexy in white robes. He breaks a banister whilst kicking their asses. When he steps out of the room, he speaks in Sri-Lankan (guess) to a wee monkey type guy, he tells him there were demon monks, he should have gone to Vegas. Cue new yummy opening credits, featuring lots of Angel, some Lorne, and Amy Acker (Fred) as a regular cast member.Back to the lounge of the hotel, Cordy asks which of the guys are gonna set the traps (she is holding two rat traps), neither are eager. Cordy reprimands them, they can kill demons but are scared of lil rats 'with their beady teeth and beady eyes' as Wes and Gunn point out. She goes to set them herself, she reaches and opens the cellar door, and screams. Angel is standing there, he's not wearing black (Whoa! Unpredictable Angel). The happiness on both of their faces is evident, Cor's happy he's back, and he's happy to be back. They embrace each other in a warm hug. Cor calls to Wes and Gunn, Angel is back. They both walk through and there are hugs all round. Cor hopes he had a good trip, Angel explains it was all right, the monks were life-sucking Shirah Demons, cue Wesley's 'ooh' and Gunn's 'Vegas.' Cordy is hinting for a gift. Angel hands her a small skull with a tuft of hair, she doesn't want a gift that much. Angel hands the skull to Gunn who is happy with it, he gives Cor a pretty necklace, which she loves (it also enhances her breasts), and Wesley gets a 16th Century Motion Dynasty (in simple terms, a big knife thing, which he's always wanted, he waves it about much to Angel and Gunn's terror. Angel wonders how Fred is, Cor wants Gunn and Wes to lie, she's great. Even with his back to them Angel can tell they're lying, she hasn't come out of her room, but Cor assures him they send up a lot of tacos. Angel goes to check on her, he's glad to see them. Wesley thinks he seems a lot better, but the truth is printed on Cordy's face, she knows he isn't. Upstairs in Hyperion, Fred is in her room, she is writing on the already covered walls, she is writing 'listen' over and over again. There is a knock at the door, she thinks it's one of the gang, she tells them she's fine etc, and obviously doesn't want to let them in. It's Angel, he tells her. She runs over to the door, pulling her glasses off and pushes back her hair. She is obviously flustered when she opens the door. Angel tells her he can't come in, she goes to shut the door, feeling he doesn't want to stay, he assures her that he can't come in unless she invites him. Angel notices the writing, she tells him she's 'listening' for something to click. Angel asks what will happen if she runs out of room before she hears the click? Fred realizes this is a valid point, and goes to write down something else. Angel takes the marker out of her hand, she doesn't need to write everything down, Fred thinks she should write that down. Angel asks her to come downstairs and hang with them, there's nothing to be scared of, they're all friends, she's safe. Hold that thought, they hear Cordy scream. Angel rushes out to her. She is lying on the floor, writhing in pain, she's having a vision. Angel, Wes and Gunn all reach Cordy at the same time. Her vision was of vamps feeding at a party, it's in Room 918, Bonner Hall, Wilson College. We see a blonde vamp (wearing a gold heart shaped locket), shes the worst as Cordy informs Angel. He asks if she's alright, she assures him she is, and the guys all head for the College. Cor lies back down on the ground, sobbing. Room 918, the guys arrive to the scene, the vamps have already left, some people are still alive so Wesley phones the ambulance service, telling them there's been an accident, they need two, maybe three ambulances. Angel goes to the window, he tells Gunn they're heading East on 6th Street, and to take the car. Gunn asks what Angel's gonna do, Angel goes into vamp-mode, and jumps out of the window, and over the roof-tops to the ground, answering Gunn's question. We see a red convertible speeding along (6th Street, maybe?!), there are two male vamps in the back with a teenage girl in between, and in the front theres the blonde female vamp (we saw in Cordys vision), with a teenage boy in between her and driver male vamp. The teenage guy asks blonde vamp not to hurt the girl, blonde vamp asks him if he loves her, he nods his head, hed do anything for her. Blonde vamp says that its a choice between the girl and him, he chooses her, thats not love the blonde tells him. Suddenly Angel jumps on the windshield and punches the driver, and we notice that Gunn and Wes are closely behind the red convertible in the Angel-mobile. The car stops. Cue a fight where Gunn and Wesley dust a couple of vamps whilst Angel rags on them. He grabs the blonde vamp, and pulls her by her locket as he stakes her. There is recognition in her eyes, and surprise, Angelus? she turns to dust. At Cordelias apartment, she goes into her bathroom and moves to the sink. Phantom Dennis shuts the door after her and turns on the light, she complains that its too bright, so he caringly turns it off and puts on the softer light of the lamp. Cor is at the sink fixing her hair, she looks in the mirror, then opens the cabinet, as Dennis runs a bath, she wants it hot, really hot. She takes three pills out of a bottle and swallows them down followed by some water. She tells Dennis the visions are killing her, theyre getting worse every time. She walks over to the bath and takes her blouse off, it drops to the ground where Dennis picks it up and puts it on a hanger. We go back to Cordy lying in a bath full of bubbles, her eyes are closed, when she opens them Dennis is holding a loofah, she leans forward so he can rub her back with it, what would she do without him? The phone rings. Marseilles 1767, a courtyard, with lots of horses. Angelus and Darla watch their two companions kissing, young love, they give it a century. Cue lots of sickly sweet comments between the two lovers (not Angelus and Darla). Darla muses about her and Angelus eating a poet in Madrid. We learn the quartet fed on the Count De Lyon and burned his villa to the ground. Angelus believes they message they left was for Holtz to hunt them down and kill them. We learn Holtz is a vampire hunter, and basically only Angelus has lived to tell the tale. We get a closer look at the blonde woman, she looks familiar. The guy asks Angelus if its true that Darla left him in a barn, and fled Holtz on their only horse. Angelus admits this, adding that she hit him over the head with a shovel. Darla contributes that when she finally did catch up with him, he made her pay for her sins again and again. Angelus gives yet more evidence to our common knowledge that he and Darla have never been in love. The woman is admiring a familiar gold heart shaped locket in a shop window, theyre all closed. The guy (James) tells her it will be pretty when its around the prettiest one of all, he breaks the window and gives the locket to her, she will never take it off. Darla and the blonde leave via an alleyway as James confronts some men who have arrived in the square. Angelus explains that its not them the men are afraid of, when James thinks it is. Holtz arrives on horseback with some men. A couple of crossbows etc are pointed at James and Angelus. Standing around the desk in Hyperion, Angel is holding the locket, and has been telling Gunn, Cordy and Wes this story. Gunn wants to know the rest, what happened with Holtz? Angel says thats another story. Gunn assures him that they have time, Wesley doesnt think they do. Cordelia relates; James and Elizabeth (the blonde vamp) had the big forever love, she was still wearing his locket, and if James found out who had killed her, hell want revenge. Angel has doubts that theyll still be in love after these 200+ years, Cordy doesnt, Elizabeth was still wearing his locket. Wesleys going to hit the streets, see what he can find out from their sources, Cordy seems pleased that they have sources. Angel kids them (Woah!I told ya he was unpredictable). Cor and Angel are left, as Angel tells Cordy that James really loved Elizabeth. We see big wrought iron gates, the red convertible is parked outside, wrecked. James and one of the vamps who were with Elizabeth etc in the car are inside the building. There is anger and pain visible in James eyes. Vamp guy confirms that it was Angelus who killed her and that he did everything he could to save her, James believes he ran away. Vamp guy explains that he came back because he thought James would want to know who killed Elizabeth. The convertible is being towed away. Vamp guy explains to James about Angelus getting a soul from a gypsy curse about a hundred years ago. He thinks James needs to be alone, James feels he wants to die, but makes do with chucking vamp guy into the sunlight and watching him turn to dust. Angel opens the locket and looks at the photos of James and Elizabeth inside, Cordy looks towards him, she is standing across the hall at the reception desk. Angel senses Cordy wants to say something, but its not of her business. She tells him anyway, she doesnt think Angel should blame himself or feel guilty for her death. Angel explains he doesnt, he didnt know who she was when he killed her. Cordy explains thats not who shes talking about (Angel is talking about Elizabeth, whilst Cor really means Buffy). They both sit down on the stairs, Cordy realizes its gonna be one of those talks where she does all the talking, Angel couldnt die with Buffy. Cor tells Angel he owes her to tell her what happened with Holtz. Back to the courtyard with Angelus, James, Holtz and the lynch mob. Holtz persistently asks where is she? we realise hes demanding to know where Darla is. Angelus and Darla had fed on Holtzs family, the lil ones were the tasty ones, but his wife kept repeating on them, of course, Angelus repeated on her a few times himself. Holtz doesnt take this statement too kindly, and decks Angelus, then holds a stake to his chin. Holtz can make his inevitable death last for weeks. Angelus tells Holtz that Darla is with James love, he then offers to give up James and the women down at the docks. James lunges at Angelus, knocking him to the ground, chaos breaks out, Angelus gets shot in the shoulder and the side by arrows, but manages to use the opportunity to escape on a horse, James jumps on behind him. There is a full moon high in the sky, James and Angelus have lost the gang, and are on the horse in an alleyway. James pushes Angelus off the horse. Angelus doesnt know what his problem is, he allowed them to escape and is lying there with numerous arrows sticking out of him. James informs Angelus that hes going to tell Darla of his complete lack of concern for her, Angelus hopes he does. James rides off, and Angelus is left pondering why people always run off and leave him, he doesnt think hes such a bad bloke once you get to know him. He thinks hes going to need a Doctor, and collapses. Dr. Gregsons door opens, Sandy, his nurse, runs in after James apologizing, she told him he was busy. Dr. Gregson assures her its alright, and takes some gunk off his face (he does this every month, just like a woman), he throws it into a bin labeled Biohazard: Chemical Waste. James tells the Doctor that he needs the cure, the Doctor asks him if he knows the price; its steep. James informs him that hes already paid it. The Doctor tells Sandy to prepare the patient. James is lying on an operating table with Sandy and Dr Gregson beside it. Dr Gregson tells James that it shouldnt hurt too much, as he cuts into James chest with a scalpel. At Caritas Lorne is on stage singing I Left My Heart In San Francisco demons and elderly people alike are enjoying it. Wesley and Gunn walk over to the bar, discussing the current situation, a demon tells them to be quiet. Lorne finishes the song and everyone claps. Merl arrives at the bar. Lorne walks over as Merl informs them that James is in town, and he knows that Angel killed his "heart-throb." Gunn phones forward to warn Angel. Angel is talking on the phone to Gunn, he hangs up and tells Cor that James is in town. He goes to the weapons cabinet and cant find his hurling axe. Cordelia tells him she moved a few things to the cellar while he was away, they were dust-catchers. Angel tells Cor to go home, he wants her to be safe, she gets into a bit of a flutter telling him how she believes it will be safer for her here. Angel holds her by the shoulders, and asks her to, for once, do what he asks without arguing. Cor is still arguing about how shell be much safer with him, when Angel opens the cellar door, and James, in vamp mode attacks. Cordy runs to the end of the corridor. James asks why he did it? (killed Elizabeth). Angel fights back, and is thrown into a wall, he yells at Cor to Stay Back! alerting James to the fact that she is there. The fighting continues, with Angel getting the upper hand as Fred walks out of her room and calls down to him; she thought she heard company, and she came out of her room, small steps, like he said. Angel tells Fred to go back to her room and stay there. She cant see James, so is confused and agrees. At Caritas, Lorne is mixing a drink as he and Merl explain to Gunn and Wes about Dr Gregson, hes a Slog Demon, he collects things. The phone is ringing as Angel and James are fighting (we can only assume its Gunn and Wes trying to get through). James hits Angels head against a metal decorative banister. Cor throws a fire extinguisher and it knocks James back. She grabs a stake, I told you to .. Shut up and stake him Cordy cuts Angel off, throwing over a stake. James grabs it, and lunges at Angel with it, Oops. James is about to stake Angel when Cor runs at him and tries to pull him off, he sends Cordy across the room. Angel uses this chance to throw James off. He stakes him, and runs over to make sure Cors okay and pull her to her feet (she hit her head off the bottom stair). Angel tells Cor its over, doesnt look like it is as they see James pull the stake out of his chest and his wound immediately reseals. Angel pushes Cor out of the way and prepares to fight James again. Angel kicks James through a banister into the garden, its daylight, and Cor points out that he should be on fire (shes perceptive, is our Cordy). Angel pulls her and they jump down into the sewer tunnels. Cordy coat gets stuck on the ladder, and she has to leave it. They run along the tunnel. James follows after them. They reach a crossway in the tunnel, Angel pushes Cor down one as he waits behind. He slices his hand on the wall to the other tunnel (it will trick James with the blood scent), and follows after Cordy. Angel sees a door in the tunnel, opens it, and pushes Cor out, following after. James reaches the crossroads, and takes the other tunnel. Cor and Angel are talking in hushed tones in their crevice. Cor brings up the ring of Amarra, does James have an Amarran belt buckle or something? A train goes past overhead, causing a rumble in the crevice, Cor thinks its an Earthquake and grabs onto Angel. She is holding his arm when her mobile rings. They both jump, even Angel is evidently jittery. Its Wesley. He tells Cor about James visit to Dr Gregson, Cordy corresponds to Angel. She lost signal at the important part, because James heart is cut out, he is only invisible for a certain time, then he days. She caught the 6, but it could be 6 hours, days, weeks. They plan to wait him out. That wont work, James bursts into their cosy lil crevice. Angel and Cor run. Angel and Cor end up in a subway station, where they run down an escalator, pushing past the now grumbling people. James does the same shortly after. Cor and Angel jump on the train, which closes its doors and pulls out before James gets to them, Cor sticks her tongue out at him. James takes off vamp-mode and jumps onto the back of the speeding train.Cor suggests that she and Angel get off at the next stop and double back, cos James wont be expecting that, or they could go on till they end of the line, putting some distance between them and James. Angel hears a noise on the roof, and moves Cordy out of the way before James smashes through the window. Angel is at the other end of the carriage, holding Cor behind him, keeping her safe. James notices this and asks Angel if its possible, if he actually cares for someone other than himself? Cor tells James Angel has changed and adds in about his soul and how he cares about everyone. James cant believe that Angels changed from the person who screwed Darla and couldnt give a damn (Angel clearly thinks hes talking about a few months ago, then quickly realizes he isnt).James asks then will he care when he snaps the person he (Angel) loves neck? Angel says he cant, the person he loves is dead, Cor spills about her (Buffy) dying three months ago. James asks if Angel loved her with all his heart, with everything, Angel says yes. James says he couldnt have loved her, she couldnt have been the love of his life, because when the person you love dies, everything inside of you dies with them, and that Angel wouldnt be standing there now playing this silly game with him. James says hes gonna kill Angel and Cor. He pulls a chair out of the floor, as Cor yells Angel! Angel gets the upper hand using a pair of borrowed crutches, Cor grabs the falling guy with the broken leg. Angel has James shoved up against the door. James is going to die. Angel asks if James idea of love is its not love unless it kills you James hurts Angel by suggesting that his (Angels) idea of love is its real unless it costs me anything. The pain is etched on Angels face as James tells him hell never know love. At least James lived, Angel just existed. James turns to ashes in front of Cor and Angel. Back at Hyperion, Cordy is checking the mail as Angel comes back downstairs, Cordy asks how Fred is. Angel says he has talked to her, shes alright. Cordy asks Angel how he is, hes not allowed to say okay. She makes a speech about how she knows James Romeo and Juliet stuff opened up a lot for Angel, and she knows he feels he has betrayed Buffy by being alive when shes not, and shes known since he got back that something is wrong. She misses Buffy too. Angel tells her he is okay, thats whats wrong, hes okay. Cor tells him that hes okay because hes not a sick obsessed vampire whod go to a slob demon (or whatever) and get his heart cut out just cos his honey died. Hes living. Ya think? Im Cordelia, I dont think, I know. Wes and Gunn arrive in theyve found a nest of demons .. business as usual. Puerto Cabazes, Nicaragua. In a bar, a hand lifts up a cigarette as a few people make out, and generally loiter by the door. A man walks over to the bar. Darla is there, he hands her a note and tells her he was hard to find. He flirts with Darla and asks her if she wants a drink-she refuses. He says he thought she might surprise him, she certainly does, she bites him. Then she gets off the bar-stool Life is full of surprises and she walks to the door. Darla is heavily pregnant .. Who is the father?

| Rating and Comments: Well, there we have it, another Darla cliffhanger I dunno about this episode. Was gonna give it 7, but changed my mind. I was gonna give it 7, cos I guess Lindsay was a bad guy I looked forward to, I guess I just dont appreciate Lilah in that way (Rarrr! Lindsay!). Plus, I dont like Gavin Park (bored now). I changed it to 8, cos I decided I liked Skip, and the friendly banter between him and Angel was kewl. Cordelia went into a mafia type voice when she was lying in be-I think she thought she was in The Godfather. Gunn was his usual kewl self, especially with the exterminating line. And when he called Fred a cute young woman that was sweet. Lorne was his usual wonderful self (Lorne rocks!). Angel was in one of those moods where he actually uses humour (always good-and so inconsistent, it makes it better). Wes was all funny, sweet and sincere when he was being a hypocrite to Angel. Evil guy could be fun, hope they develop that... Angels concern for Cordelia was so beautiful. When he killed brain guy with the iron bar, and told Lilah hed kill her if she ever used Cor to get to him again. When he wouldnt leave Cors bedside for Wes, and when he saved evil guy even though it was against all his morals-all so touching and deeply moving... It showed how much he loves (me!) her... Awww! Bless! Was it good for you too? ;) |
