Reunion

This story starts during the day after The Trial. We see Gunn come into the Hyperion, supporting a weak Angel. Through the doors of the garden court we can see that it is bright day outside. Angel is hurted and barely coherent. Cordy hurrying down the steps: “Oh my God! Angel!”

Gunn says he doesn’t know what happened, he only got half the sory. Angel didn’t make sense.

Wesley: “Angel ?”

Gunn walks Angel over to the sofa, with Wesley helping him. Angel babbles about the recent events.

Angel :”It’s no , it’s no time. No, no time.

Gunn tells them that he found him coming from Darla's motel and managed to get him into his truck without him bursting into flames He also tells them that Darla wasn't there, Cordy jumps to the conclusion that she was the one that did this to Angel

Angel: "She's dead."
Cordy: "What?!"
Angel: "I should have stopped them. They made her drink."
Wesley: "Angel?"
Angel: "She didn't want to. You think - that you can resist, but then it's-it's-it's too late."

Wesley: "Someone made Darla drink?"
Angel: "It was her."
Cordy: "Okay, way too many pronouns here. Who's 'her'?"
Angel pushes himself up off the couch: "Drusilla."
Angel starts to search through his desk, while Wesley confirms Gunn's guess that Drusilla is a vampire. Angel slams the top drawer shut, making Cordy wince, but when Wesley tries to get him to sit down, he insists that he has to find her.

He intends to intervene before it is completed and stake Darla.

Angel: "It's not too late!"
Wesley puts a hand on Angel's shoulder: "It is! She's dead already and come nightfall she will rise again."
Angel: "She won't. (He stands up spinning a big wood stake in his hand) I can save her from that.

Intro

While Wesley is doing research on the laptop, Gunn is trying to figure out Angel's vampire family tree now that Dru, the granddaughter remade her own grandmother into her daughter.
Gunn: "Man, somehow that weirds me out more than the whole bloodsucking thing."
Angel walks in, grabs a clear container of blood out of the small office fridge. Wesley and Cordelia look for any information they can find on WRH plans for Drusilla and Darla.

Cordy: "Lindsey McDonald's assistant says he *is* in the office, but he's in a meeting. Has been all day."
Angel: "Right."
Angel sets the unfinished container of blood on the table next to Wesley and goes to put on his coat, while Gunn looks down at the blood.

Wesley tells Angel if he realizes that he can’t go in there without being undetected. Angel says he hisn’t going to WRH but to Lindsey’s home.

Angel: "He already invited me in once. This time when I kick that door down, I go through it - alone." The three of them watch Angel leave.

Lindsey’s apartment , night

Angel kicks in Lindsey’s door and stands in the doorway looking at a completely cleaned- out apartment. Slowly he walks in, looks around, shakes his head, moistening his lips and swallows. Behind him a woman appears in the open door to the hall. She tells Angel that for visiting the Open House isn’t until Saturday Angel asks the woman if she knows where the man is who used to live here. She tells him he moved the day before. Angels asks the lady if she can tell him the address. After a few seconds of hesitation she tells Angel that everything was forwarded to his office.

Woman : “ Do you know where that is?”.

Angel : “Yeah (starts to leave) – Thanks.”

She asks if this is about Lindsey’s cousin and her plans to have a baby. Angel realizes that the cousin is Drusilla and her plans with a nursery and a view of the stars are part of her plans for a traditional rebirth.

On a building somewhere in LA

Dru pushes open an overhead window with a long rod.

Dru” I can hear them singing to me.”
We see a starry night sky then see Lindsay looking at Darla’s body laid out on top of a greenhouse table. Lindsey asks Dru if this place is fine with her

Dru : “Oh, yeah, (moving one hand in a circular motion above Darla’s body) Grandmother is very pleased with it – I can tell.”

We see also that Holland and Lilah are present. Holland asks Dru if she needs anything else. And that he is leaving because he has a previous engagement to prepare for. Holland leaves, gathering Lilah up with a look, then notices that Lindsey instead of following, is just standing there looking down at Darla.

Holland: "Lindsey?"
Lindsey: "Ah, maybe I should stay."
Holland: "This is a *family* matter, Lindsey. We best leave it that way."

Lindsey hesitates for a moment as Dru starts to sing to Darla, then follows Holland out.

Hyperion

Angel is ranting about Drusilla, trying to figure out where she and Darla are located.

Cordy hands Angel a list of local cemeteries, funeral homes and mausoleums, but Gunn is not at all enthused by the idea of having to go to all of them and dig up fresh graves.
Wesley: "Angel, are you certain about this? A burial isn't necessary for a newly made vampire to..."
Angel: "It would be for Drusilla. She's a classicist."
Cordy: "She's a loony."

Angel tells them to forget the mausoleums and stick with cemeteries with a view of the night sky.

Which, as Gunn points out, doesn't narrow it down much.
Wesley: "If it's just a burial she's after - one doesn't need a cemetery for that, I'm afraid, just - *dirt* really."
Cordy: "Still not narrowing. Whole planet? Pretty much made up of dirt."
Angel: "Maybe I'm looking at this wrong. - Dru doesn't see this thing as a death - but as a birth. She talked about getting the nursery ready."
Wesley: "Angel, I fear you may be looking for a logical pattern in the rantings of someone who doesn't think logically.

Angel: "Soil. - Soil near the stars. She said she wanted to be near the stars. She used to - talk to the stars. She spent *hours* in my garden in Sunnydale, communing with the night sky."
Which gives Gunn the idea that she may have been talking about a *plant* instead of a baby nursery, maybe one up high, to give a better view of the stars and Cordy suggest looking for one with a connection to W&H.

Angel and the crew are able to find the location of the greenhouse.

The greenhouse on top of a building.

Angel drops down onto the roof and walks towards it. Inside he finds a large seedbed table filled with dirt. He runs his hands over the surface , brushes carefully som of it aside at one end of the table, revealing a head of a shroud-wrapped body. He carefully pulls the thin shroud back to reveal Darla’s face.

He stands there, looking down at her for a moment, then pulls a stake out of his pocket. He slowly raises it with both hands, never taking his eyes off Darla. Hesitates for a moment, then raises his hands over his head and stabs down. Just as he’s about to stake Darla, Drusilla knocks him down with a shovel. While Angel fights with his childe, Darla awakens. Angel is finally giving as good as he gets, while Darla is sitting up behind the, gasping and staring around the room.

Angel breaks the shovel handle off in Dru’s hand, knocks her down and rushes over to the table with the broken wooden handle raise, ready to stake Darla, only to see the empty indentation of her body in the dirt. He looks around for her, when he’s suddenly grabbed by his throat and lifted about a foot off the ground – by Darla.

He tries to remove her hand from his throat but can’t budge it. Angel battles against both females until Darla leaps from the top of the building to the ground and Drusilla disappears.

Hyperion

Angel comes hurrying back into the lobby where the others are waiting for his return.

Cordy asks how it went.

Angel :”Everyone gear up. Grab something sharp. We need to move fast.”

Wesley: "So you did find them, then? Where are they now?"
Angel: "I don't know."
Angel hands a weapon to Gunn.
Cordy: "But you know where they're going to be?"
Angel: "Not exactly."
Angel throws a crossbow towards Wesley who just catches it.
Wesley: "But yet you have your suspicions?"
Angel: "Actually, I don't."
Cordy: "So it's more like a hunch."
Angel: "Wouldn't say hunch."
Angel hands Cordy a stake.
Cordy: "Would you say inkling? Please tell me you could at least say inkling."

Angel arms his friends and they all head to WRH for answers.

WRH

Holland walks into Lindsey’s office.

He wants to know if Lindsey will bring someone over to the party that evening. Lindsey says he doesn’t.

When he hears that Lindsey won't be bringing a date, he tells him that the Senior Partners have noticed the stellar work he's been doing.
Lindsey: "Well, I'm happy to hear that, sir."
Holland: "But your hard work isn't all they notice. It's also important to have - healthy attachments - outside of the office. Now I know our roles here don't allow much time to socialize. - Find the time."
Lindsey: "Yes, sir."

Holland turns to go but stops in his tracks when Dru steps out revealing herself to be hiding in the shadown, and she’s worried about Darla.

Holland: "Well, I wouldn't worry too much about that. We've taken precautions.

He walks over to Dru, who is sitting down, cradling her doll in her lap. Which is when security calls to inform Lindsey that there is an untagged vampire in the building.

But the untagged vampire isn't Angel, but Darla, as Lindsey discovers when he opens his door to find her standing just outside of it. Lindsey is quite happy to see her, but it's not clear if Darla feels the same. She grabs his head in her hands and smells his neck. Suddenly she tosses Lindsey across the room. Dru smiles and holds out her arms to her. Darla grabs a hold of her hand and runs back out of the room, dragging Dru behind. Holland calls security and tells them to let them leave the building without incident, while Lindsey picks himself back up, pushing his desk chair off him.

Lindsey stares after him as he leaves.

Outside in the streets of LA

Angel , driving his convertible, Gunn in the passenger seat, is speeding through the streets of LA tossing Cordy and Wes around in the back seat. Wesley says it will be no good if they don’t get there in one piece. Angel replies they don’t have much time. Suddenly Cordy gets hit by a vision. Wesley asks Angel to pull over. But Angel is in such a big hurry that the doesn't want to pull over. We get blurry flashes of a guy holding a gun. Cordy tells Angel it is in the other direction.

Angel says they are close – meaning by that to WRH –

Wesley :” Angel !”

Angel : “ She should have done this before we left the hotel.”

Still he doesn’t pull over.

Cordy gives him a mean look, pulls out a stake, holds it up, aimed at him, then puts it back down. Angel spins the car around and heads in the other direction.

Some other street in LA

We see Darla and Dru heading down a crowed sidewalk with Darla tossing Dru around. Dru asks Darla if she did something that displeases her. Darla tosses Dru on the sidewalk. A guy tries to help Dru up, but Darla tosses him aside, then grabs a hold of Dru and tosses her over a parked car onto the road.

Dru stands up, only to get hit by a honking car. Dru rolls down the street a ways and a woman gets out of the car and hurries towards her as Dru slowly gets back up. The woman takes one look at Dru and runs off as Darla comes and slams Dru down on the hood of the car.

Darla is angry and demands answers.

Meanwhile we see a guy in a red pickup truck continuing honking his horn to get them move out of the road. Drusilla explains her reasons for remaking her grand sire, then breaks down into tears and Darla comforts her.

The guy gets out of the pickup. He asks them to move out of the street. Darla looks at him, walks towards him, shakes her head and vamps out. She grabs the guy and feeds on him. Dropping him to the ground and turns back to Dru with a smile, back in human face.

Dru : “You’re all new again.”

Darla : “Let’s go shopping, hmmm?”

The two of them walk off down the road giggling.

A building in LA

A boombox is playing loud heavy metal music. There is a patched together poster covering the wall and candles, a turtle shell and other paraphernalia set out on the workbench in front of it. The guy from Cordy’s vision is sitting before it cradling a gun. He is worshipping a demon called Morgog Angel and the others come in and the guy spins his chair around to face them. He asks what they want. Wesley says that they are there to help.
The guy tells them he doesn’t need any help he is doing what Morgog is demanding him.

Angel throws a look at Cordy and shakes his head, walks towards the boombox, sitting on top of a barrel

Cordy to Angel: "Easy, Boss. This kid's ready to snap, crackle *and* pop. I felt it in my vision. We've really got to handle this one with care. You know, delicately Angel throws the boombox at the altar, causing the guy to dive off his chair and ending the music. Angel grabs the gun and twists it from his hand. Angel tells the guy he isn’t there to hurt him and that Morgog isn’t the way. He dumps the bullets out of the gun into his hand, tosses the gun into a barrel of used oil.

Cordy crouches down by the guy, cradling his right hand withile Angel walks away, Wesley steps in front of him. Wesley tries to keep Angel from walking away, since the PTB must have had a good reason for sending them there, but Angel doesn't want to take the time to figure out what that reason could be - other then preventing the guy's suicide, which he did. Angel says he has better things to do and has no time to waste.

A boutique in LA

Drus is giggling, walking her fingers down a clothes rack in the Panache Boutique. She picks a black, sheer piece and turns to Darla.

We hear a phone ring.
Dru: "Oh. I'm ringing. - Do you hear it? (Starts to dance in place) I'm ringing - all - over!

Darla watches her for a moment then reaches down into the front of Dru's dress and pulls out a cell phone.
It's Holland calling from Lindsey's office, and slightly surprised that it is Darla, not Dru he's talking to. After some small talk he suggests that instead of settling for a spree, they might want to have themselves a massacre.
Dru certainly likes the sound of that, and Holland assures them that they would have the full weight and support of W&H squarely behind them. Darla hangs up the phone as Dru poses in a red coat with a thick fur trim.

Darla says they need shoes to go with it. Darla steps over a dead body and looks down at a whimpering woman who is pulling herself along across the floor. Darla asks her if she has something to go with Dru’s ensemble. As the woman still keeps sobbing and crawling, Darla puts her bare foot on her back and reaches down and snaps her neck.

Darla :”Service in this place is really unacceptable.”

Lindsey’s office

Lilah, Lindsey and Holland are there talking that the two vampires will keep Angel busy for some time. Holland says they don’t need to worry about Angel anymore. As suddenly Angel holding on to a rope, crashes through the window into the office, scattering glass everywhere, then jumps to grab a hold of Lindsey. He demands information about Darla and Drusilla but gets none. Angel steps closer to Holland as the door opens and a bunch of security guards file in and surround him. He is arrested and put in a police car with Kate. She realizes that she can’t stop Darla and Drusilla and releases Angel in the hope he will be able to do it.

Holland’s home

Holland’s wife, Catherine leads Lindsey into the wine cellar. Holland gives a speech to his colleagues, but he is interrupted by the appearance of Darla and Drusilla.

Outside the Boutique

Angel walks up the sidewalk to the yellow tape roping off Dru and Darla’s shopping spree. He passes between the cop cars parked in front of it and one of the plainclothes detectives gives him a hard look as he walks by.

In the store there is a person taking crime scene photos and a black cop gathering up a broken necklace from the floor into an evidence bag. He straightens up and scans the store behind him in the mirrors right in from of him. No one is there but as he bends back down to his work we see that Angel is actually standing right behind him.

The wine cellar

Darla and Dru survey the gathering. Holland tells Darla he is glad she is alive and they were able to save her.

Angel himself in the meantime has found a woman cowering in one of the fitting rooms, who had been there the whole time Darla and Dru were 'shopping,' because she had been trying on a dress for some office party she was supposed to go to. She is pretty shaken up. She had been expecting them to come and kill her as well.
Angel: "I know. - Did you see or hear any of it?"
Woman: "I mostly heard. - I guess I was lucky 'cause of the party."
Angel looks rather disappointed that she would be worried about her party at a time like this.

Angel : “ They said something about a party.?The woman says it is the party that Dru and Darla were in a hurry to get to - a tasting.

Holland apologizes to Darla and tries to convince her that the firm is an ally. Darla senses fear from everyone in the room except from Lindsey. She walks over to him, leans in close to his neck, exposing her fangs as if to bite him, then pulls back.

Darla : “ You could die here. Chances are you will.”

Holland with a forced laugh says no one is going to die here But Darla ignores him, instead suggesting to Dru that they should put in a 'people' cellar at their new digs, which pretty much drives the last traces of a forced smile off Holland's face.

Angel walks up to the open front door of the Manners mansion and sees a blood trail on the beige carpet, leading to where Catherine is lying on the floor. Catherine lifts her head a little: "Help. Help us."

Dru: "Daddy's home."

Angel walks down the steps to the cellar, stops outside the open door

Darla: "Angelus. - Here for the tasting?"
Dru: "Look what we have for you.

Angel doesn't react, just keeps looking at Darla

Dru : “ It's not Daddy. It's never Daddy. (Hisses at him) It's the Angel-beast."
Darla: "Come to punish us?"

Holland pleads to Angel to help him , people are going to die.

Angel: "And yet, somehow, I just can't seem to care."

Holland watches wide-eyed as Angel shuts the double doors on them.

Holland keeps pleading with Angel while Darla caresses the side of his face, but Angel only slides the latch on the double doors shut. Dru takes a step forward: "Daddy." Lindsey has a slight smile creasing his face.

Darla pulls Holland down and bites him. Angel unhurriedly walks up the steps from the cellar, ignoring the screams and sounds of fighting coming from the cellar.

Hyperion

Angel is sitting behind his desk with Wesley, Gunn and Cordy sitting on the other side of it.
Wesley: "And you - just walked away?"
Angel: "No, I walked to my car and then I drove away."

Wesley, Gunn and Cordelia question Angel’s actions and partially blame themselves for not doing something sooner. They are all concerned about him and the fact they’re the only thing that stands between him and evil.

Wesley: "Listen to her! Right now the three of us are all that's standing between you and real darkness."

Realizing this;
Angel: "I do. - You're all fired."
Angel gets up and walks away while the other three sit there like frozen statues.
