At the site they are faced with the demons and mortals who are fighting one another, as soon as the demon spots them the mortals turn and begin to attack all of them Angel concentrates on just the one and hears nothing of Gunn's plea for help, once Gunn takes care of the Demon by embedding a axe in it;s head the mortals back off, broken from the spell of the Thrall Demon. Angel however continues to beat the man on the ground and Wesley has to pull Angel from him. Outside Angel gives the car keys to Cordelia and heads out on the streets of LA. As he walks along the promenade he spots Darla walking parallel to him in a red blouse, he looks on in horror as the nightmare becomes reality. His Sire Darla is indeed back from her resting place.

We go back to the 19th Century, Angel is Angelus and Darla is alongside him she has just had a snack in an alley way when Angelus joins her. She tells him that she has something very special for him, Angelus looks around and sees the three virgin sisters as they walk along the street, Angelus senses that this is not all, the middle daughter has the sight - visions. Drusilla turns to look straight at Angelus sensing what he will do to her she flees.

Angel follows Darla along the promenade but eventually loses her amongst the crowds of people not to mention the clown and the Big walking Hotdog! Back at the Hotel Angel tells Wesley and Cordelia what he has just seen, he finally tells them that he has also been dreaming about her too for the past few weeks, Wesley tells Angel that it s just not possible for it to be her as we all know Angel staked her over three years ago back in Sunnydale. Angel hears what Wesley is saying but insists that it was her. back in Lindsay's office Darla is very proud of the way Angel is falling apart and Wolfram and Hart are even happier although Lindsay's insists that they do not want him dead they want him dark (don't we all!)

At the Franklin Hotel Restaurant, Angel Cordelia and Wesley are tracking the wife of the client that they just took on, Angel tapes them and hears what is being said, after they agree to go upstairs Angel stops them and tells his wife to go home and sort it out with him. Cordelia looks on in horror as he diminishes any sort of pay cheque from the whole exercise. As they begin to walk out Angel spots Darla paying for lunch and heading out he grabs her looks n her wallet and angrily says what are you trying to do? Pass for human, he still hold onto her as she frightfully explains that she is in fact Detta Kramer married to Stephen Kramer, Angel however knows otherwise as he can smell her, she is Darla. After the security guard almost arrests Angel he sees her flee into the sunlight into the arms of a man. They flea back to the hotel before the police arrive. Angel orders Cordelia and Wesley to find out where this woman lives that she is passing as. Wesley doubts this and Angel tells him that he had sex last night with a bleached blond - all doubt evaporates!

Off to the bar to see our trusty Anagogic Demon, Angel songs "everybody have fun tonight, everybody Wang Chung tonight" after getting frustrated half way through the song he ditches the mic and returns to the Demon. He does not want to read him as he explains Darla is bad news and is not part of the path he must take, he tells Angel to let her go. He does not tell Angel where she is, angry Angel telephones Cordelia and tells her to give him the address, Cordelia is reluctant but she eventually gives it to him, 1409 Gallaay Studio City, Angel hangs up and head for the place while Wesley gets the tranquilliser gun and also Gunn himself as they must be prepared for the worst.

Outside the house Angel watches Darla go about what seems to be a normal dinner with her husband, what Angel cannot see is the mic hooked up to Lyndsey in her ear and the Vampire in the kitchen. As they finish their meal Lyndsey give the all clear to go, Darla calls 911 and orders the Vamp to make it look real, the poor actor is drained there and then by the Vampire, when Angel hears the cry for help he smashed through the door and is faced with Darla sobbed next to her wanna-be-no-longer-an-actor husband, the police run though the door at that very minute they order Angel to drop to his knees as he whispers to Darla "you will pay for this" and he flees to the attic and outside to escape the house and the police. Outside Kate questions Darla about Angel and swears to her she will get him, as she steps aside to talk to another officer Angel grabs Darla from the tree that he has been hiding and takes her away.

Back at the Hotel Wesley and Cordelia are still researching any possible resurrection powers that Darla may have while Gunn is accepting the fact that Angel can in fact turn into a blood sucker monster. Kate crashed through the door and demands they tell her where Angel is, as non of them no they continue to be loyal to their boss and shut the hell up letting the officers search the hotel at their will.

Angel has driven Darla to the old water tank and he tanks her don the stairs and tells her he knows so no more lies, she still denies that she is who he says so Angel turns Vamp (WHOO HOO) and pins her up against a pillar, rips open her blouse and begins to trace her neck with his fangs drawing just a little blood. They kiss passionately and finally Darla succumbs to being Darla and says "There's my boy".

Back at the hotel Kate explains what Angel has done and Gunn quite bluntly tells her that NO vampire can enter without being invited that is of course unless the real house owners where already dead. Wesley also shows Kate a picture of Darla which is over one hundred years old, he case begins to slide into oblivion against Angel.

Angel pulls Darla off and asks her what Wolfram and Hart's plan is, she tells him that they want him bad she wants her old Angel back. Angel explains that soon all the bad things she has done will begin to eat away at her. Still she persists wanting to give him that one true moment of happens until Angel tells her that he never really loved her, Darla attacks saying Buffy wasn't happiness she was just new Angel laughs knowing that Darla could never have made him happy like Buffy did as he did not have a soul when he was with her - no soul no feelings. She still insists that her boy is inside and wants out and Angel can only listen. As the sun rises Angel and Darla are still in the water tank Angel threatens to kill Darla but all she does is taunt him with the words she used in his dreams, he grabs her by the neck she take out a cross and it burns his chest she yells "look god doesn't even want you!"  He pushes her away and she runs to the stairs into the light she turns and says "what no goodbye kiss?" and flees into the daylight where she knows her cannot follow.

Back at the hotel Angel and Cordelia are worried about him again, he has been sitting in his room all day they still do not know what happened or whether he is sitting up there evil ready to kill them as they enter the room. They go up there and knock on the door, Angel answers and assures them he is still Angel. Wesley points out that Wolfram and Hart and Darla are going to mean trouble and all Angel says is "Bring it on".
