To Shanshu In LA
| While Wesley continues to translate the scroll, they are visited by David
the mad multi-billionaire who likes demon hookers hoping the will hang with him for a
while (proof once again that money can't buy happiness but just about everything else) as
a couple of monks raise a demon outside the Wolfram & Hart building. The demon, who
takes his styling tips from Phantom of the Opera wardrobe assistants, walks into the
offices of the law firm... David leaves after displaying why money can't buy happiness and Wesley suddenly realises what Shanshu means and tells Angel that he is going to die. Angel is totally unperturbed and carries on regardless, this unsettles Wesley a little as he was obviously expecting a reaction of some sort (like, "I'm going to die? Oh my God! ... hang on, I'm already dead, what does it matter?" or "Die! What colour?") but before he can pursue the matter further Cordelia has a vision of a homeless woman being attacked by a slime demon. After saving the woman from the demon Angel is approached by Kate who makes it quite clear that they won't be getting sweaty together any time soon as she blames Angel and his kind for the death of her father. Wesley decides to visit a book shop so that he can translate more of the text in the scroll, he advises Angel that he should consult the oracles he insists that this is not necessary. The oracles however have a visitor, the demon talks to the oracles and then kills them, the start of cutting Angel off from everything that gives him a link to the powers that be, next is Cordelia he rubs his hand against her as she does some shopping and shortly after she has another vision, reaching to her handbag to telephone Angel not thinking all that much of it another one happens only this time it doesn't stop, she falls to the ground screaming... As Angel places the scroll in the cabinet and locks it, he seems to sense that someone is there, interrupted by the telephone, on the other end the hospital - he rushes to Cordelia leaving the Demon free to steal the script and plant a nice surprise for the first person that returns to the Bat cave. The doctor tells him that they cannot seem to sedate her and they need to find a way to stop the visions. Wesley returns to the office finding the cabinet broken into and the scroll gone with something else in it's place, Angel returns just in time to see the whole building blow up. Realising that Wesley is in fact still inside he finds him unconscious and takes him outside where an ambulance takes him to the hospital, Kate is there and attacks Angel telling him that he cannot leave and who the hell does he think he is, Angel warns Kate that she is to try him at being enemies and walks away. Angel visits both Wesley and Cordelia, he finds a mark on Cordelia's hand and decides to consult the Oracles for guidance - he finds them both dead, she however is there in spirit and tells him it is a Demon named Voka - Warrior of the Underworld that has done all this to make Angel weak, she tells him that he is here for the raising and to stop him. Meanwhile Wolfram and Hart have arranged the place for the ritual and the Voka Demon prepares - Lindsey and the others follow on a little later in the limousines and Angel follows them. As the Voka demon carries on with the ritual he senses something and walks to the unopened window just as Angel crashes through it, they fight and Lindsey carries on with the ritual as Angel and Voka battle, the earth begins to shake and the vampires chained around the box turn to dust which spins around the box as Lindsey carries on chanting, a mass of intensely bright light and Lindsey is knocked of his feet and thrown to the wall leaving him unconscious, Angel still fighting the Demon. The others from Wolfram and Hart take the box away leaving Lindsey, Angel and the Voka demon. Angel eventually overpowers the Voka Demon and rips it's mask off which I have to say is not a pretty sight and then impounds the grim reaper like weapon in it's body. Lindsey has awoken and has the ancient scroll the one thing that Angel needs to free Cordelia from her permanent visions. Lindsey picks up a very large cross and points it in the direction of Angel, Angel tells him to give him the scroll he of course is not going to do this easily he tells Angel that it is foretold that all his connections to the Powers that Be must be severed and holds the scroll over the fire - Angel throws the grim reaper like weapon towards his arm and cuts it off just above his wrist, Lindsey falls to the ground handless and Angel picks up the scroll, he tells Lindsey not to believe everything that is foretold and walks away. Taking the scroll to Wesley who is now recovering they sit next to Cordelia and he reads out the text that will free her from the permanent visions, once freed she is faced with her friends all around her she says that there is so much pain and that they have to help them, Angel tells her that they will. Once they are both released Wesley sits around the table with Angel and Cordelia trying to find out what exactly they raised in that box, Cordelia is very different, saying that he must hurry up before the prophecy kicks in and Angel dies, this is where Wesley realises that he has made a mistake, oops as he says, Shanshu does not mean in fact that he is going to die but Angel is to live, he tells Angel these words and he looks intrigued, but isn't he already alive (sort of anyway). Wesley explains that the most ancient source the Proto Banto class life and death the same, part of a cycle, Wesley tells Angel that it is saying that he will get to live until he dies, in other words become human, Angel looks on a little shocked, Wesley carries on to tell him that once he fulfils his destiny he will become human it is his reward - Angel smiles and says that would be nice. Wesley explains that this isn't going to happen overnight he has to survive the coming darkness, the apocalyptic battle, a few plagues and some fiends that will be unleashed upon the world. Angel smiles and says don't break out the champagne just yet, Cordelia says oh yeah break out the champagne this is a big deal - Angel smiles and says I guess it is... Meanwhile back at good old Wolfram and Hart we find out what is in the box, Harland tells Lindsey how impressed the senior partners where with his sacrifice (just a hand you know!) and tells him that they will even the score. They look on into the box to be faced with Angel's sire Darla.... |

ran rings around the finale of Buffy. And the ending what a shocker to leave us hanging
until Autumn (fall) like that.. I am surely looking forward immensely to next season. Rating Got to be a well deserved 10/10 |
