| In the first episode of Angel we meet up with him in a bar in LA, he is drunk talking about Buffy. It is pretty obvious from the very start that he is still brooding over her. The first three Vampires are also encountered and killed without much problem at all. Angel meets Doyle for the first time also and learns of his visions and a girl named Tina - he encourages Angel to get out there and help even though he can see he is reluctant to mix with humans. Angel runs into Cordelia at a party, she is her usual self on the outside, in private she is struggling to meet the rent and eat, living in a cockroach infested apartment to proud to ask for anyone's help. After Tina is killed by a viscous Vampire called Russell Winters Angel seeks him out at his home only to find Cordelia there running for her life. After they escape he takes Cordelia back to his place to recover from his gun shot wounds and protect her as he knows that Russell won't give up until he has her dead. After Angel discovers where Russell works he goes to his office building. The visual effects of him plunging out the window and bursting into flames as he falls in daylight are very impressive. It hopefully opens the door for what is to come throughout the series. So the investigation agency is established, with Angel, Doyle and Cordelia ready to fight the forces of evil far far away from Sunnydale. |

| Looks pretty good to start, although it definitely lacks that certain
something. Whether it be the fact that it is going to take time to get used to not seeing
Buffy and the rest of the gang, although Cordelia is there! It also in ,y opinion lacks
the certain element of humour which would enhance it loads, OK so there are some funny
moments but more would be great. Overall great first episode lets hope that as the series
goes on it will get even better. Rating 8/10 |
