Alexis has a Russian immigrant father, and old Main Line Philadelphia Mother. He spent almost all of his childhood in Seattle with his mother and then went on to attend a boarding School New Hampshire. After he graduated High School he set off to explore Europe ending up in London England studying at the London Academy of Music and Dramatic Arts.

Alexis spent 15 years in the England before returning to the United States to pursue his acting career. Although a rumour has it he also headed back to the states to nurse a broken heart, the heartbreaker has never been name and the rumour stays that way - a rumour. When he returned he immediately started working on a series by Fox entitled "Ghost Cop" the show however never got snapped up by the network.

His has worked on a few other projects such as "Noah's Ark" a TV mini series and also had an appearance on "Highlander". Alexis character on Buffy was first intentionally meant to be killed off after only a few episodes but Joss changed his mind and he has since gone on to work on Angel as a regular cast member. Taking the place of Glenn Quinn has no doubt been hard as everyone loved the Demon but his character carries on to evolve as the series goes on.

He has currently finished working on a project called "Beyond City Limits" on which he worked with Alyson Hannigan fellow Buffy co-star and also girlfriend. They planned to spend their summer travelling in Africa together on Safari.
